Congrats to our own Will Wood, Head of Pre-Sales at Datasharp Integrated Communications, who took part in (and survived) the ‘world’s largest obstacle race’ on Saturday 11th May.
The Rat Race ‘Dirty Weekend’ took place in the grounds of Burghley House near Stamford and included 150 monster obstacles over a gruelling, half-marathon distance.
The day before the event, Will said:
“I’ve never run this distance before, let alone with so many obstacles, so I’ve trained hard to make sure I don’t let anyone down”.
By taking part, he raised a tidy sum for his chosen charity Children With Cancer UK. To date, this huge event has raised a total of over £1 million for the charity.
After the race (once he’s got his breath back), Will commented:
“Turns out it was longer than advertised at 14.4 miles! I’m fairly battered and bruised, but am happy everything went to plan. The whole thing took over 5 hours in the end!”
Well done Will!
